Overview

Torn money is a stage problem. Before level 15 you scrape starter cash. After 15, travel dominates the early game. Later you can stack multiple methods to make hundreds of millions a day.

Margins are constantly on the move. Use Travel Stock to ensure you are always making money. Stash cash before you celebrate a haul (Keeping money safe).

Protect it first

You will get mugged. Keep $0 in your wallet - stash everything and only withdraw right before you spend. Even $1 on a mug is enough incentive for someone to keep hunting you.

Pick your stage

Which stage are you in?

Small, reliable cash while you race to travel unlock.

  • City shop flips (100/day) - beer, plushies, lollipops
  • Short-term sell losses only if you need starter gear
  • Sweet Shop / cans when you can land the job
  • Bank short deposits; stash cash (Keeping money safe guide)
  • Finish leveling - travel is the real unlock

Common newbie → mid path. Tap a stage for the methods that usually matter there.

Ballpark daily income

Margins are constantly on the move and exact profits can shift quickly. Treat this chart as rough order-of-magnitude, not a promise.

Travel assumes active flying with live margins from Travel Stock. Bank bar assumes a full ~$2B deposit at a sample APR; use the live bank widget below for your merits.

Scrape cash before 15

  • City shops (100/day): beer, sheep/teddy/kitten plushies, bricks, lollipops, pepper spray. Resell under market when a margin exists.
  • Sell losses short-term for starter armor, Xanax, or rent. Terrible as a forever job (energy not in gym).
  • Company specials (cans and similar) often beat wages. See Jobs and companies.
  • Bank: short 1-2 week deposits while capital is small. Banking merits help later.

Skip early

Random mugging, dump diving for cash, casino “investing,” and founding a company at level 10. Crimes grow CE and merits more than income until later.

Fly for profit after 15

Hit 15 via Leveling, then make travel the main printer. Active flyers often land around $3-6M/day; capacity and routes decide the rest.

  • Rent a PI with airstrip and hire a pilot: base carry rises 10 → 15, flights are ~30% faster, and airstrip flights are free. Capacity ladder: Travel.
  • Add a suitcase (largest only counts) and faction Excursion if available.
  • Price routes on Travel Stock. Sell via trade chat, sets, or points.
  • Side loops once education allows: blood bags, museum sets.

Math: capacity × profit/item × flights. Game carry starts at 10 (airstrip/WLT/business set base to 15). Tourism Day can double capacity past this slider max - use Travel Stock for live margins.

Uses the flight counts and profit/item you enter. Pull live profit/item from Travel Stock.

Five midgame methods

Once travel (or a solid company) funds a float, these five are the usual next printers. Pick one or two; do not chase all at once.

MethodWhat you doNeeds
TradingUse the item market or bazaar to buy items from players for below market value and sell them for a profit.Bazaar or IM float, self-hosp before big sales (How to trade)
Set middlemanBuy incomplete plushie/flower stacks from flyers, finish sets, museum for points, sell points. Or flip full sets when items beat 10× points mid.History bachelor, Points Market math (Points and museum)
Company specialsWork a company whose special prints (cans → energy sales, education cuts, mug reduction, capacity). Specials are the pay when salary is $0.Work stats + Company finder
Blood bagsFill empties on cooldown, sell heal bags; keep wrong-type bags for self-hosp stock.Intravenous Therapy, medical CD (Blood bags)
Faction OC / war payShow up for OCs and ranked wars with required items and CPR. Member cut is faction policy (often most of the haul).Faction seats (Organized crimes, Ranked wars)

Casino is not a strategy

The house edge wins. Treat Gambling as entertainment with a hard budget, not income.

Park capital that works

  • Fill city bank toward the ~$2B investment cap (~$3B with 10★ Oil Rig Fat Cat). Short terms while growing; longer terms when full.
  • Buy a stock ticker; fill useful dividend / utility blocks (Stock market).
  • Store mug-prone wealth as points, Xanax, or vaults, not wallet cash.

Live city bank yield

Loading live bank rates…

Uses the live Torn bank APR feed. Daily ≈ principal × APR / 365. Merit line assumes 10/10 bank-interest ×1.5; confirm your merit tier in-game.

Do this

  1. Wallet empty ($0); stash plan ready; withdraw only to spend.
  2. Under 15: city flips + company specials + leveling energy discipline.
  3. 15+: PI airstrip + pilot → travel loop → Travel Stock.
  4. Pick one midgame method (consumables, sets, company, bags, or OC pay) and fund it from travel.
  5. Bank toward ~$2B (or ~$3B with Oil Rig) + stocks as capital arrives.

Frequently asked questions

What is the main money method after level 15?

Travel. Fly abroad, buy profit stock (often flowers/plushies), fly home, sell to traders or turn sets into points. Capacity and methods: Travel guide.

How much can the city bank hold?

City bank investment cap is about $2B. A 10★ Oil Rig Fat Cat perk raises that to about $3B.
