Ranked Weapons and Armor Basics
Buyer path for Yellow / Orange / Red gear: identify, tooltip, scrap floor, comps, verify. Cache BB costs and armor piece % rolls.
By Weav3r
Overview
“Ranked gear” means advanced weapons and armor with Yellow / Orange / Red bonus classes - usually from ranked war caches, or bought / scrapped through Big Al’s Bunker. A plain copy of the same item name can look identical until you open the i tooltip.
Wiki starting points
Bonus classes: Weapon Bonus. Armor sets: Armor. Cache / bunker prices: cache pages + Big Al’s Bunker. Combat bonus interactions: wiki + Attacking.
Identify the bonus class
| Color | Wiki name | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | Superior | Most common class from special caches. Unique bonuses only come in Superior. |
| Orange | Epic | Rarer than Superior. Exact % not published. |
| Red | Legendary | Rarest. Exact % not published. |
Weapons without bonuses are commonly called grey, white, vanilla, or non-legendary. Same item name + icon can be plain or advanced - the tooltip is the proof. Do not invent drop rates; treat Orange/Red as rare.
Know cache sources and BB costs
Ranked wars pay caches containing special weapons and armor. Caches also sell at Big Al’s Bunker for Bunker Bucks. A cache hits the faction armory when awarded; opening from armory puts loot in armory, opening from inventory puts loot in that player’s inventory.
| Cache | Opens into | Bunker cost (BB) |
|---|---|---|
| Small Arms | 1 Pistol or SMG (Y/O/R, ≥1 weapon bonus) | 20 |
| Melee | 1 advanced melee (clubbing / slashing / piercing; not mechanical) | 30 |
| Medium Arms | 1 Rifle or Shotgun (Y/O/R, ≥1 weapon bonus) | 50 |
| Armor | 1 piece of armor (set list on Armor wiki) | 60 |
| Heavy Arms | 1 Heavy Artillery or Machine Gun (Y/O/R, ≥1 weapon bonus) | 70 |
Every weapon-cache pull has at least one weapon bonus. Exact combat interactions (DOT stacking, finishing-hit rules, Warlord on bonus hits, etc.) belong on the wiki / Attacking - not this buyer page.
Read the tooltip before you price
- Weapons: unique bonuses (tied to specific guns) vs general bonuses (shared pool). Orange/Red scrap has separate columns for one vs two effects - advanced weapons can carry more than one bonus.
- Armor: cache sets (Riot, Assault, Dune, Delta, Marauder, EOD, Sentinel, Vanguard, …) each have a named bonus. A full five-piece set adds a set bonus on top of per-piece rolls (Armor).
- Armor piece % rolls matter. A few points on the piece bonus, plus armor rating and which piece (body vs gloves/boots), can swing price hard. Compare against known min/max on Bonus Stats / wiki ranges.
- Coverage-gated sets (Riot, Assault, Dune, EOD) only apply when the hit lands on a covered area. Always-on sets (Delta, Marauder, Sentinel, Vanguard) apply even if that piece’s area was not hit.
| Set | Bonus | What it does (wiki) | Set bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Riot | Impregnable | Reduced opponent melee damage % | +10% |
| Assault | Impenetrable | Reduced opponent bullet damage % (MG / pistol / rifle / shotgun / SMG) | +10% |
| Dune | Insurmountable | Reduced opponent damage % while under 1/4 life | +15% |
| Delta | Invulnerable | Negative status effects reduced % (not distraction; not DOT effects) | +15% |
| Marauder | Imperviable | Increase % to maximum life | +5% |
| Sentinel | Immutable | Increase % to Defense passives | +25% |
| Vanguard | Irrepressible | Increase % to Dexterity passives | +25% |
| EOD | Impassable | Chance % to fully block incoming damage | +10% |
Check the scrap floor
Big Al’s Bunker unlocks via Big Al’s Gun Shop after paying 2,500 Points. Buy caches with Bunker Bucks (BB) only. Earn BB by trading in unwanted advanced weapons/armor.

Scrap vs market
If a listing is near scrap, you are mostly buying lottery tickets / vault filler. Good rolls and liquid metas sell above scrap. Bunker Bucks does the math against live cache asks.
Compare comps, then verify
- Bonus name - some effects are fought over; others are niche.
- Roll % - for variable bonuses, a few points can be a large $ gap.
- Color / rarity - Orange and Red are scarcer; scrap BB jumps with color too.
- One vs two bonuses (weapons) - second effect matters for combat and bunker scrap.
- Armor set + piece + rating - body pieces and high armor rolls often price differently than gloves/boots.
- Use Ranked Weapons, RW Value, and Bonus Stats as comps - not gospel.
- Open the i tooltip on every weapon/armor in the trade - do not trust icons or chat screenshots.
- Match bonus names, values, color/rarity, and damage/accuracy/armor (or quality %) to what you agreed.
- Read the trade log for remove/re-add swaps after the first accept.
- Use the two-step confirm. Cancel if anything differs.
Fake-RW trades
Screenshot shows dream bonuses; trade window has a plain or worse piece. Full write-up: Avoiding scams → Not-ranked weapon.
Do this
- Identify color / class and open the i tooltip.
- Note bonus names, roll %, one vs two effects, and armor piece % if armor.
- Check scrap floor (Bunker Bucks / widget above).
- Compare live listings on Ranked Weapons / RW Value.
- Verify every line in the trade window before you accept.
